Description

Hey there

Well, something different from my usual stuff. It's an older photo, taken last year in Verdun, France. I liked the composition in front of the wall.
I added a tiny bit of noise to create a rugged effect.
Enjoy!

Very good work. I like the composition and the desat effect.

You need a bit more space to the right or less to the left to make the compo 100% balanced imo :) Anyway, I really like the geometry and desat.

in light of what has just happened here in Charleston, this one is special to me. i might agree with Cigaro, moving the camera more to the right would be a perfect balance but this is a good shot. the red is the icing

If you had included the full door frame then it would have worked for me.
As it stands and if you dont have the image with the doorframe, you could crop the image from the right including cropping the sign. Ending up with a square format image..

A lifestyle related photograph presenting the fire hydrants' slick bright color offset by the gritty surroundings. White spaces create a flow from left to right, as they become framed by the concrete work. Although having the door cut off isn't exactly successful, since the white space above it leads the eye off frame. If this were done as part of a series with a path that follows that found above door in this photograph, would have been an interesting and creative solution.

Love good desaturation work! :)

This is surely one!

Even stronger if the full door post was included but it still renders +9!

Desat works very well. Compositionis nice but could be even better if you had done something different with the door.

I agree with Wallace, who agrees with dakoo, who agrees with all of the above ;)
Seriously, without flogging the composition again, this is one of the best uses of desat that I've seen in a long time. I love it! Wish I'd thought of it :)
Love the textures, verticals, horizontals... awesome!
